Depart from Stockholm at 09:00 a.m. and drive one hour south to a forest close to Gnesta where you will set up camp. You will go through some basic survival fundamentals related to fire and shelter. You will learn how to best build a fire no matter the weather conditions, what tools and materials to use so that you don’t waste too much time and energy.
Enjoy a fresh cup of tea for breakfast and plan the day ahead. There will be no hunting or killing on the trip, you will simply learn how to build and set different traps that might help you catch several types of animals. Start with simple snare traps: roe deer trap, hare trap or squirrel trap. You will also learn different fishing techniques and how to catch fish without lines or hooks. In the evening swap stories and enjoy dinner by the fire.
Watch and learn how to make different tools like a harpoon, cooking equipment and fishing tools. You’ll be exposed to practical tips and tricks in the outdoor like how to split a trunk, make a chair and build a tripod to help you smoke different meats.
You will explore the natural surroundings and learn how to read a map while navigating through unfamiliar territory. Do a recap of all the skills you have acquired, pack up camp, and head back to Stockholm.
At the start of your journey you will be provided with everything needed for a good night’s sleep in nature:
As part of the survival experience, you will learn how to best prepare food in the outdoors. Making a fire, foraging in the forest and fishing in the lake are all activities that will provide you with the necessary skills to cook in nature. You don’t need to worry about going hungry though, there will be plenty of food to keep you full.

"Will was an excellent guide and was able to describe in detail the characteristics of the forest, as well as explaining lots of different foraging and wilderness techniques. I learnt so much and the tour was really entertaining. Cooking over an open fire and the lake swim at the end was magical. I was only in Sweden for a weekend so I absolutely recommend doing this trip even if you are just visiting for a city break, it was the highlight of my trip. I feel more confident to be more adventurous so I will definitely book another longer tour the next time I visit Sweden."
"First we met William the founder of the True Nature Sweden who was very warm and welcoming. Meeting point was really easy to find. Before w start we had some problems with one of our gears and our guide helped us right away and get us fixed to our adventure. Hike and camping was super good, Sweden nature is amazing and we all had fun. These guys are so easy to connect and the definitely know what they are doing. We highly recommend True Nature Sweden. I am already planning to come back for a long survival course. Thank you for everything guys."
"We have the greatest respect for the owner of True Nature Sweden, William who graciously guided two completely inept city fools through a 4 day survival course. By the end of day 4 we felt liberated, educated and challenged but quietly confident of the skills William taught us. Thank you for such an enriching experience. Thanks to the team and particularly William for your patience, knowledge and positive attitude. We would highly recommend True Nature Sweden if you want to explore Sweden off the beaten track."
"We had a brilliant time with the team for the weekend survival course. William is so knowledgeable and makes learning vital survival skills so enjoyable. We've since taken ourselves out camping and used so much of what he taught us - it's opened up a whole new way for us to spend our weekend. Thanks guys!"
