Through workshops and group discussions, you’ll learn how to infuse your art with business so you can earn a living through your creativity.Cat and Logan have a cumulative ten years of experience in running successful creative businesses. Together, they’ll teach you how to reach your full potential.Connect with fellow creatives as we share our combined knowledge and experiences while sipping French wines and allowing the breathtaking landscape to inspire our artwork. ### Day 1: Arrival Get transferred from Limoges train station to Manoir La Croix de La Jugie.Meet Cat Coquillette, Logan Elliott and your fellow retreat participants and discuss the week ahead, while enjoying a delicious dinner served with local wine. ### Day 2: Workshops and art classes We’ll begin the day with a group check-in and discussion of our week’s plans and goals. Afterwards, we’ll jump right into painting. After lunch, we will kick off our first workshop, which explores opportunities to make a living as an artist. Cat and Logan will share their own journeys into creating their own thriving businesses, including a Q&A for Logan and Cat to chat candidly about their experiences as artists and business-owners. It will be a relaxed day, getting to know one another and settling in. ### Day 3: Painting in Limoges After the morning check-in and masterminds session, we will travel to nearby Limoges, a well-known hub of the porcelain industry. Limoges’ history of producing hard-paste porcelain spreads over more than 200 years and even materializes into the trademarked “Limoges porcelain”. Now, the city is the top porcelain producer in France and hosts several porcelain factories. Medieval architecture prevails in Limoges, and the fairy-tale vistas provided by Jardin Botanique de l'Evêché, Quartier de la Boucherie or Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Limoges are ideal for spontaneous sketching.Upon returning to Manoir La Croix de La Jugie in late afternoon, Logan will lead a workshop on pricing artwork. ### Day 4: Workshops and art classes Following the morning check-in and masterminds session, we will go on a 20-minute walk to explore the picturesque village of Saint-Priest-Ligoure and get inspired by traditional white stone houses fused with bright green fields. Paint alongside Cat facing the imposing church Église Saint Priest and return to the retreat venue in time for lunch. After lunch, we will jump into an open-panel discussion on contracts and negotiating terms. ### Day 5: Château de Pompadour After the morning check-in and masterminds session, we will embark on a trip to Arnac-Pompadour, a commune dating back to King Louis XV. We will visit the incredible 15th century Château de Pompadour, walking around the castle's remarkable estate and the adjacent Pompadour National Anglo-Arab Stud, the headquarters of the French National Stud and one of the most important providers of Anglo-Arabian horses in France. After a picnic lunch, we will head to Ségur-le-Château, former home of the first Viscounts of Limoges in the 12th century and currently listed among the most beautiful villages in France. We will wander the truly fairy-tale-like streets and sketch overlooking the winding Auvézère or the bright flowers crawling over the ancient stone walls and half-timbered houses.Upon returning to the retreat venue, during happy hour, we will discuss the biggest challenges we’ve faced as artists and what we’ve learned from those experiences. Logan and Cat will share their best advice for beginner entrepreneurs who want to get started in this industry, including our biggest wins and failures. ### Day 6: Workshops and art classes Morning check-in + masterminds. We will explore the surrounding countryside to sketch and paint from the landscape. Afternoon workshop: Finding your audience, becoming approachable, and getting noticed with strategic marketing. ### Day 7: Workshops and art classes Morning check-in + masterminds. Afternoon workshop: Starting a business checklist, led by Logan.
