The painting vacation takes place at Casa de las Orquideas — a hillside villa which overlooks the town of Benigánim and the Valle D’Albaida in Valencia, Spain. Situated mid-way between the popular airports of Valencia to the east and Alicante to the west, the villa was purchased in 2007 and transformed into a residential art school and painting vacation venue.

Hot to get there:

Please book your flights to arrive at Valencia Airport in Manises (VLC), also known as Manises Airport or Alicante–Elche Airport (ALC). Valencia is a 70-minute drive from Benigánim, while Alicante is 85 minutes away by car.

Airport transfers are included in the package. Please get in touch in advance to make all needed arrangements.
Tali Farchi

Originated from Israel, Tali’s artistic vision was shaped by the ardent sun from the motherland. Inspired by the Dutch landscapes, Tali’s artworks test the limits and harmony of the structures and shapes. The world created by Tali is built with dynamic brushstrokes and lively textures. She is passionate about both figure and landscape painting, and expresses her aesthetics in various mediums – oil pastels, aquarelles and charcoal. Tali will be your tutor during your painting vacation.

Royce Deans

Graduate from the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Royce will be your tutor for the duration of your painting vacation. Royce’s experience is torn between his glowing passions: drawing, illustration and painting. Experimenting the link among visual art and music, Royce is endlessly looking for more profound means of expressing abstract work. You can expect to be revealed valuable notions on landscape, abstract and figurative painting, as Royce masters these techniques.

Cas, US:

“Re-learning to simply sketch turned out to be a gift in which I continue to pursue. Using quick sketches helped me to loosen up my technique. The collective meals were a great way to end each day at dinner together. Also, learning from other artists from several parts of the world with a variety of experience levels, and Tali and Royce are fabulous artists to learn from, we are still connected.”

Claudia, US:

“I enjoyed the opportunity to retire from the world for a week and concentrate on art. A lovely retreat, and Royce and Tali did a great job of organizing.”

Belinda, Singapore:

“A retreat in every sense of the word. A real getaway from it all. My very first retreat with a bunch of incredible people from all over the globe; and what an exuberant experience it was — just soaking in the atmosphere of the countryside that a city dweller like me needed, but most of all, doing what I love best!”

Jacquie, US:

“What a joy it was to always find someone to converse and to paint with. I am so grateful to have met each of you and look forward to seeing you in the future! Thank you Tali and Royce for arranging all of it and supporting us in our art. Thank you, everyone else for an intense week full of communing and art!”
