Muay Thai training

The training routines at the camp are for both beginners and advanced Muay Thai practitioners. Your trainers will observe and adjust the training routine to fit your own level of physical preparation.

Exercises will contain shadow boxing routines (using punches, kicks, knees and elbows), bag sessions (punching and kicking), pad work with the trainers, and stretching exercises. Your cardio and general fitness levels will gradually improve and with each training session you will improve your technique, speed and power.

Morning sessions are scheduled Monday to Saturday between 08:00 a.m. and 09:30 a.m. and they are preceded by optional running and stretching routines between 07:00 a.m. and 08:00 a.m.


08:00 a.m. - Shadow boxing / drills

08:20 a.m. - Pad work

08:40 a.m. - Bag work

09:20 a.m. - Sparring

09:30 a.m. - Cool down


Breakfast is served together after the morning training session.

Afternoon sessions are scheduled Monday to Saturday between 03:30 p.m. and 05:00 p.m. and they are preceded by optional running and stretching classes between 03:00 p.m. and 03:30 p.m.


03:30 p.m. - Skipping exercises

03:45 p.m. - Pad work

04:10 p.m. - Bag work

04:30 p.m. - Sparring

04:50 p.m. - Cool down

06:00 p.m. - Dinner


Dinner is served together after the afternoon training session.

For the duration of your Muay Thai training, you will stay in on-site private accommodation. The rooms are walking distance from the camp and are the perfect place to rest after a hard day of training.

Rates are based on single occupancy.

During your stay at the camp you will enjoy 2 meals per day from Monday to Saturday. Thai and Western dishes are cooked and prepared by chefs who have more than 40 years of experience in the kitchen. On Sundays you will be able to wander around Bangkok and eat at the various markets and street vendors.

The Sor Vorapin Muay Thai gym and accommodation are situated in the Taling Chan district of Bangkok.


How to get there:

Please book your flights to arrive at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK).

Medyean Sor Ssak Jareon is a former Muay Thai champion and will make sure you get the best out of your training for the duration of your stay.

What language is used during the Muay Thai training?

Training is conducted in English and Thai.


Are beginners welcome?

Yes, the gym is very beginner-friendly.


Is this available to all levels?

It certainly is. All physical ability, skill and experience levels are more than welcome to train.


How many people are to be expected in a group session?

There are usually between 5 and 10 people training in each group session.


Is this experience available all year round?

Yes, the camp is open year-round.


Do I have to participate in all the Muay Thai training sessions?

No. All sessions and activities are optional. While trainers encourage you to join in the activities as much as possible, you decide how much you want to train.


Do I have to bring my own Muay Thai equipment?

All necessary Muay Thai equipment is provided at no extra charge. If you want, you can bring your own personal training equipment to use.


What else should I pack?

Please make sure you pack sunscreen, loose, comfortable gym clothing, running shows, a rain poncho for the rainy season, and insect repellent.


Is WiFi available?

Yes, WiFi is available at the accommodation.


I am vegetarian. Can I still book this experience?

Yes, you can. Vegetarian diets are catered for. Please get in touch in advance to discuss your specific dietary requirements.


Are there any age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions. Please keep in mind that you must be over 18 years of age to travel abroad independently.


What is the closest airport? Are airport transfers included?

Please book your flights to arrive at Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) or Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Airport pick-up can be arranged for an extra fee of 1000 Thai Baht (32 USD), please get in touch to discuss details.


Are there any check-in and check-out hours?

Check-in starts with 12:00 p.m. and check-out is at 12:00 p.m.


How far in advance should I book?

Please make a reservation at least one month in advance to secure your preferred dates.

"I truly enjoyed my (unfortunately short) stay in Sor Vorapin Gym. Training was hard, but a lot of fun with nice trainers and other Muay Thai enthusiasts. The gym has a really familial atmosphere; you train, eat, relax together and sometimes have a drink or two. Food is great, and people are really relaxed outside of training. If you need to be in the heart of Bangkok it’s not for you though, as the gym is in a quiet suburb that has a distinctly rural feel. Great to really focus on training and relax your mind though. I did improve and learn quite a lot in my few days and hope to keep all the techniques in mind after I leave Thailand.
