There are two small-size group Muay Thai training sessions per day, every day. The number of students that can take part in the training sessions is limited to 10, so that each participant gets plenty of individual attention and one-on-one time with the instructors.
The Muay Thai training sessions involve footwork drills, bag drills, pad work, shadow boxing, clinching techniques, sprinting, partner play, sparring, skipping, and other Muay Thai specific techniques. Training sessions start with an optional 30-minute run through the scenic rice fields of Mae Rim Chiang Mai. At the end of the sessions you will do several stretching exercises to cool down and help your muscles recover.
After two weeks of training, if the coaches give their seal of approval, guests can represent the gym in fights. Most fights are arranged at Thapae Boxing Stadium in town and take place under full Muay Thai rules.

“I have spent a total of 5 weeks at this amazing resort. I did 2 weeks of boot camp in December 2018 then came back for 3 weeks of Muay Thai in January 2019. The resort staff are very helpful and provide you with everything you need during your stay. The Muay Thai trainers are very fun and friendly, they push you when you need a little push and also understand when you need rest. The location is quiet and rural within the rice fields of Mae Rim (just north of Chiang Mai). There are many walking/bike paths and areas to explore around the Bangarang resort/gym. Bikes are provided. There is an amazing swimming pool available to all guests. The accommodation is very modern and clean, there are lots of trees and plants surrounding each Villa, lots of privacy. I couldn’t ask for a more beautiful place to stay. As a solo traveler it’s a great place to meet other travelers and exchange stories and experiences. Thank you Bangarang! I will be back without a doubt.”
“Came to Bangarang by accident as a friend of mine was going and - without having any experience in Muay Thai or Boxing - I decided to accompany him. Spent 2 weeks there in the Muay Thay program and now, being back home, I just can’t stop! It’s greatest fun, the 7-star champion-trainers will motivate and support you to get the best out of you. Actually, the different Muay Thai places in Barcelona can’t cope at all with the quality of the training, special thanks to Mata, Champ, Tommy, Boat, Uncle, Ton and Mate! Everyone on site is just amazingly lovely, the food is delicious and fresh (Mimi also adapts to your needs, once in a dinner between 8 people there were 5 different dishes, comforting all of our diet requests). Accommodation is clean and modern, and the villas are equipped with everything you might need while training. Overall it was an absolutely spectacular experience, I am very grateful to everyone who was involved and recommend going to Bangarang highly (without even focusing on it you also might lose a couple of kilos).”
“This place is OUTSTANDING!!! The training is for all ages and all fitness levels. As a doctor, I am always looking for exercises for my patients to improve their physical fitness in ways that keep them engaged. I can't recommend this place highly enough! The staff is well trained, friendly and the meals are healthy and nutritious. The facilities are top of the line and the training was amazing. If you ever thought about physical fitness training in new and exciting places, then Bangarang is the place for you!”
“I recently spent 10 days here doing a boot camp and had a fabulous time. The workouts are tough but only as tough as you can manage (I'm 55 and managed everything). The trainers are all great and very knowledgeable and supportive, using humour, encouragement and praise to help you through and get the best from you and for you. Each day is different and although there are some constants there are opportunities to get out and about and see some of the rural life and attractions which make the area so special. The accommodation is excellent, as is the food and they take care to ensure that different tastes and dietary requirements are catered for, nothing is too much trouble. The food is Carb free and first thoughts are will there be enough. I can honestly say I didn't feel hungry at any point and I lost 4.5 kilos in 10 days. The whole resort has a very relaxed atmosphere where all the staff are friendly and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. The result for me was improved fitness, some incredible weight loss and better still, a feeling of calm and relaxation that I haven't experienced in years.”
