Joni:

"Jan Willem and Nancy offer a stay that will make you want to return again. The Manor was beautifully decorated and their meals were above what I expected. If you are looking for art instruction, this is the place you need to go. If your looking for a peaceful getaway, it fits the bill for that too. I definitely want to be a return guest! "

Mimy:

"The wife is a wonderful cook (with a background in art and art supply sales) and the husband is a fantastic artist who teaches "just right" for guests at every level of art exploration. Our group was one of the most experienced in art he had staying at one time -- he knew just when and where to push/nudge some of us and when to leave us to our own devices. Great equipment, too! But he is accomplished at teaching all levels, from complete beginner to the experienced. He keeps you focused on your goals and not comparing to others. Very individualized attention. What a wonderful group of people and lovely hosts. The facilities are VERY clean and comfortable. What a peaceful, happy place. I highly recommend it!"

Gloria

"I have not painted in about 20 years and my skill set was never great, just fun. Jan-Willem is a marvelous teacher. He knew just when to come into the room; I think he has a sixth sense. His instruction was beautiful. Each direction was exactly where I needed to go next. The group had novices to experts and everyone improved their skills and sharing our work was fun. The house and setting are beautiful and relaxing and the food that Nancy makes is fine dining at its best. My husband came along and is not a painter but had a great relaxing time too!"

Louisa:

"Nancy and Jan are the consummate hosts at this charming B&B. There are two buildings, the Manor House and the guest house. I had a room on the top floor of the guest house and was very content. I did a painting week so I got three meals a day and each one was very good. Nancy is a good cook and incredible housekeeper. This is one of the cleanest places I have seen. The art instruction with Jan was terrific. He is very flexible and can teach in many different media. I did watercolor, but my new friend and fellow student did oils. We went to three different locations for en plein air and also did work in the studios, of which there are two. One thing that stands out for me is that this is the perfect place for single women/women traveling alone because it is safe and comfortable. I highly recommend an art week or just a night or two of the B&B. "
