## Reviews

Reviews from previous UpTrek retreats with artist Sari Shryack:"I am so thankful for the experience of learning from Sari for a whole week! I was deepened my knowledge of color, value, and composition from a variation of demos, hands-on exercises, and practice time. Most of all, I appreciate Sari’s mindful approach to teaching - I felt validated as an artist and as a human, and returned from the painting retreat feeling confident and creatively inspired. I can’t wait to take more classes from Sari!""This was a trip I will never forget! Sari’s expertise and knowledge of color and composition is knowledge I am excited to share with my own students.""A special mention goes to our instructor Sari Shryack who was incredibly gracious and knowledgeable. She provided one-on-one sessions that truly helped improve our art skills. Watching her create a piece in under two hours was always a treat – her demonstrations were both inspiring and entertaining. Overall, I would highly recommend Sari Shryack and UpTrek art retreats for anyone looking for an uplifting art retreat with great food, beautiful surroundings, and a wonderful art experience.""Sari was an incredible inspirational teacher and I was so lucky to have been taught by her. She took her time with detailed demonstrations, she's so willing to help everyone and see us succeed. We were taught plein air painting, colour mixing, values and theory, composition, still life and more. It was such a great experience and I hope to apply everything I learnt going forward. The trip was organised by UpTrek who did an amazing job at choosing the teacher, venue, location and kept us informed from the moment we signed up for the course.""Sari was such a good teacher and is a vast wealth of knowledge for anyone with an interest in painting. I had the most enjoyable week and the number of excursions was perfect and added to the inspiration of the week. I would do this every year if I could. Thank you so much.""This painting retreat was a dream trip for me, so the fact that it exceeded my expectations feels unreal. From the art perspective, I could not think of a better person to host painting lessons than Sari. Outside of being an amazing artist and teacher, she's incredibly sweet, supportive, and down-to-earth. After coming back home, I've been able to apply her teachings to my artwork and can, without a doubt, say that I am a more confident and efficient painter because of her. The planning and logistics of the trip through UpTrek were done thoroughly, but also allowed for flexibility in the schedule.""This trip was one of the most rejuvenating, productive, and singular experiences I've had. (And I say that as someone who's had some blessedly beautiful trips!) From the instructor, to the venue and it's staff, to the food and day trips, truly it was an absolutely unforgettable trip. My art practice (and my nervous system) needed it more than I knew and I'm so grateful UpTrek is creating such thoughtful experiences for people. I will definitely have my eye on future retreats!!"Guest reviews from past retreats at this venue:"Well it was lovely in all aspects! David’s gourmet food was a dining extravaganza! The quaint villa & the nearby town were enormously refreshing. The love & care put into the service was above reproach! I would highly suggest this venue to anyone interested in seeing Greece!""The hosts really made my trip special by their loving and kind hearts! They made me feel like family as well as all their staff! The estate was breathtaking and I hope to visit again soon! It was magical and I truly appreciate everything done for us while there, their openness and especially the hugs! I miss them and the warm generosity and kindness. It's true that I felt more at ease, comfortable and hugged being a stranger welcomed there, than I actually do coming back home...!!! That is saying a lot about the character and hearts of Karen and David! It reflected in everything and everyone whom works there. That is why it works so well, as David says, that's Living, doing what you love! Thank you to all for the fond memories ;)""The venue is beautiful. Waking up to see the sunrise was a perfect way to start the day. Food was authentic and delicious. We had some hot days in the studio, but apparently, this was a heat wave, but otherwise, it worked well. Staff was genuinely sweet and accommodating, and hard working. It was interesting to experience the Greek way of life. Our hosts cared about every detail. I enjoyed it so much that I will return next year and bring my daughter. UpTrek, thank you for finding this gem!""Beautiful location! There was a lovely mix of art classes at the retreat, and excursions to paint or take reference photos! Our hosts were warm, kind, and very talented in cooking and treating guest! Thank you for an experience of a lifetime!"
