# Wendy Artin
*Acclaimed watercolor painter*

Wendy Artin is an American watercolor painter who explores the timeless interaction of light, form, and color on inanimate objects (still life, architecture surfaces) and the human body. Her works feature a figurative and classical style. She is best known for her loose, expressive watercolor pieces of live models, through which she explores absence, beauty, and the corporeal.Wendy is the Fine Arts winner of the 2023 Arthur Ross Award for Excellence in the Classical Tradition, awarded by The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA). Her artworks have been featured in numerous public and private collections hosted by well-known cultural institutions all over the world, such as the Kelsey Museum of Archeology in Michigan, the US (2015); Galerie du Passage in Paris, France (1996-1998, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2023); Gurari Collections (2000-2025) in Boston, Massachusetts, the US; and the American Academy in Rome, Italy (2013). 62 of her artworks are featured in the Prints and Drawings Collection of the Boston Public Library. She acquired her Bachelor of Arts in French Literature and Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania (Magna cum laude) and her Master of Fine Arts in Painting from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, Boston, Massachusetts. Wendy also studied for two years at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, France. Today, she is an Artistic Advisor and has been a Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome, Italy.
