# Lisa Mann
*Abstract artist*

Lisa Mann is an award-winning abstract artist currently based on the Greek island of Naxos. With a background in Development Psychology, Education, and Counseling, and having lived on three continents, Lisa has spent her life exploring the world and finding ways to inspire people through teaching, travel, and creative practice. It was through painting that she found her own sense of freedom, and that experience became the foundation of everything she teaches.

Her work spans abstract oil and cold wax paintings as well as playful abstract acrylics, drawing deeply from the landscapes and people she encounters in her travels. After years of recognition and representation by galleries across the United States, Lisa traded city life for something quieter and more connected, settling on Naxos, where she paints, teaches workshops, and runs a small gallery surrounded by the island's breathtaking scenery.

Lisa blends decades of classroom teaching experience with a bold, imaginative, and playful sense of color. A lifelong learner, she loves the act of painting as much as the finished work and is highly skilled at helping students find their creative voice while giving them the tools and confidence to grow at every level.

After a successful 30-year teaching career in the U.S. and abroad, she transitioned to painting full-time. Working from her studios in Portland, Oregon, and Naxos, Greece, she creates abstract scenes with emotional depth, sensitivity to light, space, and mood, and a playful embrace of beautiful imperfection. Her work has been exhibited in galleries nationwide, earned multiple awards, and is held in notable private and public collections.

At the heart of Lisa's teaching is a simple but powerful belief: no matter how old we are, inside we are all artists. She brings warmth, depth, and a deeply personal approach to every class, focused on helping students creatively express themselves through paint and find their own sense of freedom on the page.
