# Leslie Stroz
*Artist, author, illustrator, and art professor*

Leslie Stroz is a professional artist, art professor, and author best known for her expressive tiny paintings created outdoors. An American-British artist, Leslie lives in the English countryside and has inspired a worldwide community of artists through her plein air painting adventures and approachable teaching style.

Working primarily on location, Leslie paints everything from quiet village scenes and architecture to pastoral landscapes and intimate portraits, often using tiny paintings as a way to slow down, observe more carefully, and capture the impression of a moment in time.

Leslie taught drawing and painting for many years at the State University of New York at Geneseo before moving to England in 2014 and has presented on arts education at the University of Oxford. Today, she teaches through workshops, retreats, online classes, and social media, where she has inspired a worldwide community of artists to paint outdoors and develop their own creative voice.

She is the author of “The Big Book of Tiny Painting: An Artist’s Guide to Tiny Painting Outside in Ink and Watercolour,” a practical and encouraging guide to painting outdoors that combines observational drawing, color theory, sketchbook practice, and the joy of working small.

Through YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, Leslie shares her painting process, outdoor sketching adventures, and teaching with a global audience of more than 1.5 million people, encouraging artists of all experience levels to pick up a sketchbook and paint the world around them.
