# Kerri Dixon
*Wildlife & Nature Artist and Art Educator*

Kerri Dixon is a wildlife and nature artist and art educator whose soft pastel, charcoal, and graphite work is known for its soft, luminous rendering of Australian animals. Born and raised in Brisbane, Australia, she spent 27 years running a sign manufacturing business with her husband before a desire for a simpler, more self-sufficient life led them to sell everything and move to a farm in rural Queensland, and later Brooweena, where she finally had room for a dedicated art studio.

Kerri is largely self-taught, developing her practice by joining her local art society and immersing herself in the surrounding creative community after the move to the farm. She found soft pastel to be an especially forgiving and beginner-friendly medium for capturing the texture and softness of wildlife subjects, and this medium became the foundation of her teaching. What began as local workshops grew into The Creative Barn Membership, an online art community now serving students worldwide, through step-by-step tutorials and regular live Zoom sessions in soft pastel, charcoal, and graphite.

Her teaching and story have been featured in "What's On Fraser Coast Magazine," "Pastel Artist" magazine, on "The Creativity Boost Podcast," and on the "Building Her Dream" platform, where she's been recognized for helping introverted and often isolated artists, particularly women over 40, find community and confidence through creating wildlife and nature art.

Kerri lives and works on her farm in rural Queensland, Australia, where she balances caring for cattle, sheep, chickens, and ducks with a full-time studio and teaching practice. Her approach blends technical, step-by-step instruction with an emphasis on creative confidence and community, meeting artists wherever they are in their journey and helping them rediscover the joy of drawing and painting the natural world.
