Katie Moody is a UK-based artist whose practice centers on sketchbooks, travel illustration, and mixed-media painting. Working primarily in watercolor, gouache, pencils, and pens, her art captures landscapes, animals, and everyday surroundings with a sense of immediacy and joy. Whether sketching outdoors in the New Forest or documenting her travels abroad, her pages reflect curiosity, spontaneity, and the pleasure of experimentation.Born and raised in southern England, Katie studied graphic design at university and went on to spend nearly a decade in the design industry, working in agencies and in-house roles creating shop displays and travel brochures. Though design remained a creative outlet, her true passion for painting and drawing led her to transition into a full-time freelance art career. Since then, she has cultivated a dedicated audience through her teaching, tutorials, and behind-the-scenes sharing, while also collaborating with brands and institutions,including a highlight project with the Tate Modern inspired by a Cézanne exhibition.Katie’s artistic style embraces looseness and play, often layering media to create dynamic sketchbook spreads that feel both raw and thoughtful. She encourages an approach that values process over perfection, seeing the sketchbook as a place for exploration, storytelling, and memory-keeping.In addition to her own creative practice, Katie is committed to teaching and community building. Through YouTube, Patreon, and workshops, she shares demonstrations, tips, and encouragement to help others rediscover the joy of sketching.
