# Jane Blundell
*Watercolor artist and urban sketcher*

Jane Blundell is a watercolor artist and teacher originally from Tasmania, now based in Sydney. She studied Visual Arts at the City Art Institute in Sydney and has been painting professionally for over forty years. Her work is rooted in watercolor and a lifelong fascination with color, from detailed studies of flowers and birds to plein air sketches of buildings and landscapes, and that love of pigment carries through everything she creates.

She is the author of several self-published books on color mixing, including "Watercolour Mixing Charts," "The Ultimate Mixing Palette: a World of Colours," and "Watercolour Triads." She is also widely known for her online color resource, which catalogs watercolor paints from brands around the world with painted swatches and pigment ratings, and she has a long association with Daniel Smith watercolors, including her own signature color, Jane's Grey.

Jane teaches a range of online courses, including Mastering Watercolours, Travel Sketching, Special Effects in Watercolour, and Drawing in Detail, and she shares tutorials and paint reviews through her blog and YouTube channel. When she's not in her home studio, you'll probably find her sketching on location, teaching a workshop somewhere overseas, or out exploring with a sketchbook and a travel palette.
