Chris Fornataro, widely known as the "Paint Coach," is an accomplished American artist, educator, actor, and filmmaker. Born to artist parents, Chris began drawing and painting at an early age, later balancing his artistic pursuits with athletics. In 2008, he moved from Richmond, Virginia, to Los Angeles to play football for the University of Southern California (USC). As a freshman walk-on running back, he earned a spot on the travel squad for USC's game against the University of Virginia.After his sophomore year, Chris shifted his focus entirely to the arts, channeling his discipline into oil painting and filmmaking. In 2019, he co-wrote, produced, and starred in the critically acclaimed short film "Will 'The Machine'," portraying a high school football recruit grappling with obsessive discipline and personal struggle.Chris primarily works with oil paints, often engaging in "en plein air" sessions near his home in Sarasota, Florida. Through his popular YouTube channel, Paint Coach, which has over 400,000 subscribers, he simplifies the painting process for beginners. He also provides personalized feedback and in-depth tutorials to over 4,000 students via Patreon. His approachable teaching style has inspired a global community of artists to develop their skills and confidence in oil painting.
