# Brooke Warner
*Author, publisher, and memoir teacher*

Brooke Warner is a Berkeley-based author, publisher, and memoir teacher whose life's work is helping writers not only to tell their stories but also to get them out into the world. With a deeply held belief that every writer's story deserves to be told, her approach to coaching and teaching is rooted in honesty, warmth, and a commitment to meeting each writer exactly where they are.

Brooke began her publishing career in 2000 and spent 13 years working for traditional publishers, including a tenure as Executive Editor at Seal Press. In 2012, she co-founded She Writes Press, an independent publishing house dedicated to women writers. She is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) with the Coaches Training Institute and holds a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from San Francisco State University.

She is the author of three books on writing and publishing: “What's Your Book?,” “Green-Light Your Book,” and “Write On, Sisters!” She has also co-authored two books on memoir alongside Linda Joy Myers: “Breaking Ground on Your Memoir” and “The Magic of Memoir.” Together they co-founded Write Your Memoir in Six Months, a mentoring program supporting memoirists at every stage of their journey. Brooke also co-hosts the Memoir Nation podcast and writes a weekly Substack newsletter, Writerly Things, on publishing and the craft of memoir.
