# Betty Franks
*Abstract artist*

Betty Franks is a San Jose-based abstract artist and the founder of Betty Franks Art. She is best known for her vibrant, joyful approach to abstract painting, inspired by her love of nature, color, and fields of flowers, and by the belief that art should be accessible to everyone. Working primarily in acrylics and mark-making techniques, Betty blends intention with spontaneity, creating expressive, colorful pieces designed to spark imagination and evoke joy. Her online courses and workshops have earned her a devoted and growing community, especially among women over 50 rediscovering their creative voice.

Betty is a self-taught artist who, after a long career in customer service management, embraced painting at age 50, proving it's never too late to pursue a creative passion. She founded Betty Franks Art as a way to share that late-blooming love of color and has since grown it into a thriving creative brand spanning original paintings, prints, online courses, and in-person workshops. In 2023, she had her first solo exhibition titled "Fields of Flowers," shown at Colibri Gallery in Morgan Hill, California. She has led in-person workshops and retreats across North America and Europe, including Santa Fe, Vancouver Island, Toronto, and France's Périgord region.

Betty regularly shares her creative process, art adventures, and workshop offerings across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and YouTube, offering an encouraging and colorful window into abstract art-making. Her warm, down-to-earth approach is at the heart of everything she does, whether she's painting in her studio, traveling the country in her RV, or guiding others to find a joyful, confident art practice of their own.
